Who We Are

OUR MISSION

The mission of the "Dara" Foundation is to implement projects aimed at improving the living conditions, socialization and expanding development opportunities for orphans and children with special educational needs.

The mission is predicated from the firm conviction that all children are talented and have an equal right to education and development. Therefore, most of our projects are aimed at teaching, developing creative skills in children, rehabilitation and support in acquiring a profession.

The Foundation also participates in the development of proposals for improving legislation and practice in terms of implementing the rights of children with disabilities and orphans, as well as cooperates with other public organisations in the promotion of reforms.

WHY US

Since 2007, we have been implementing charitable projects in the field of development and support of mentoring for teenagers from orphanages and inclusive education for children with special educational needs in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

We are firmly convinced that all children are talented and have an equal right to education and development. Therefore, all our projects focus on educating, developing, socializing, and supporting children in acquiring a profession. We organize fundraising for systemic charitable programs of the Foundation:

  • "Mentors" The program was initiated by the foundation in 2015 to develop and support mentoring for teenagers from orphanages. Thanks to you, we help children in three ways: (1) finding, training, and supporting individual mentors for teenagers; (2) organizing regular educational courses on school subjects; and (3) conducting career guidance meetings and events.
  • "Inclusion" The program was initiated in 2014 to develop and support inclusive education for children with special educational needs. Thanks to you, we help in five areas: (1) expanding the network of psychological and pedagogical centers; (2) strengthening the psychological and pedagogical support services of general educational schools in Kazakhstan; (3) creating conditions for the development and education of visually impaired children; (4) implementing an early support system through the opening of early support services based on psychological and pedagogical centers; (5) improving the quality of education in special boarding schools based on international experience.

The foundation participates in developing proposals to improve legislation and practices concerning the rights of children with special educational needs and teenagers from orphanages, collaborating with government bodies and other non-profit organizations to promote reforms.
